Being convenient, affordable, and straightforward, Screwfix helps tradespeople get their jobs done fast, cost effectively and right the first time. They offer home improvement products and services to both customers and trade professionals who shop in-store and online, believing a better world starts with better homes which the brand makes accessible to everyone. They have over 840 stores across the UK where customers can choose from a range of 10,000 products, including power tools, workwear, cables, and pipe fittings. If something isn’t available in-store, customers can order online or over the phone for next day delivery, 7 days a week. So, customers can get what they need quickly.

Screwfix is part of Kingfisher Plc, an international home improvement company with more than 1,900 stores and 82,000 colleagues. They operate across Europe under different banners, including B&Q, Tradepoint and Screwfix in the UK. Kingfisher themselves date back to 1982, acquiring FW Woolworth from Paternoster which also included the B&Q chain. In 1984, it acquired Comet, followed by Superdrug in 1987. B&Q quickly expanded, moving into larger warehouse stores from 1994 and eventually merging with Castorama. B&Q also opened their first store in China in 1999 which was the same year they acquired Screwfix.

By 2000, Kingfisher put greater focus into its home improvement business, expanding throughout Europe and Asia, as well as establishing new stores in Turkey, Russia, and Spain, as well as the UK and Poland.

Screwfix has won some highly acclaimed awards in recent years. In 2016, it was named ‘Multi-Channel Retailer of the Year’ recognising its many achievements over the past 12 months. This includes its 24/7 contact centre, and the ability for customers to click and collect in as little as one minute. In the following year, the brand was awarded the Retail Week Award for Customer Experience Initiative and the ‘Simply Better Service’ initiative which recognised customer service improvements across all channels- in-store, over the phone and online.
